My Approach

Dr. Lisa’s Approach

To Your Wellness

By viewing you as a whole person, Dr. Lisa addresses the root cause of your health concerns beyond just addressing your symptoms, which provides you with a holistic approach to treatment.

I help busy people go from feeling overwhelmed and disempowered to feeling calm and supported so they can live their best life.

What to expect on your first visit

During your initial visit with Dr. Lisa, she will conduct a comprehensive life and health history. Initial consultations are typically up to seventy five minutes so that she can determine your areas of greatest stress in your body, start to identify the root causes of your health concerns and prioritize where to start.

Dr. Lisa will also share findings with you from the health assessment and conduct an additional screening for specific remedies uniquely supportive to your health.  During this time you will have the opportunity to discuss your wellness goals and what options are available so that you can immediately take away an action plan.

Your initial session will provide recommendations for your treatment protocols, and may also include customized nutrition advice and/or any further diagnostics to consider for your care plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a naturopathic doctor (ND) and a conventional medical doctor (MD)?

Naturopathic doctors and conventional medical doctors each provide primary patient care and are similarly trained. The key difference is in their philosophical approaches to medicine. Is naturopathic medicine covered by Alberta Health Care?

Many private and corporate health benefit plans cover naturopathic medical visits and tests. Please check with your insurance provider to determine your coverage and/or to request that your policy be extended to include naturopathic services. Naturopathic visits are not currently covered by provincial health care plans.

Do I need a referral to see a naturopathic doctor?

No. A referral is not necessary to book an appointment with a naturopathic doctor.

Does seeing a naturopathic doctor mean I have to make drastic diet or lifestyle changes?

After treating thousands of patients in her practice since 2010, Dr. Lisa has found the best approach is to meet patients where they’re at and work together to create a gradual timeline for any changes so that health and wellness goals are successfully met.

Does going to see Dr. Lisa mean I’m committed to a care package / set # of treatments?

A typical care plan includes your initial session and several follow up appointments to make sure you’re on track to achieve your health goals.
